Elephants Are the Best

Standard

Elephants are really interesting and intelligent animals! They are uber adorable and intelligent!

Elephants are the biggest land mammals (however, not the tallest) and are the only mammal that can’t jump.

Elephants are one of the most emotional animals in the world. When they find bodies or skeletons of deceased elephants they grieve the elephants, even if they don’t know the elephants. They rescue and protect other animals like monkeys and dogs, as well as other elephants. They have astounding memories. Elephants wrap their trunks together as a sign of affection and as a greeting.

Elephants care for each other deeply, if a baby elephant complains, the whole family will run over to make sure it is okay.

Once a newborn elephant was rejected by his mother and cried for five hours nonstop. After they treated his injuries they brought him back to his mother his mother kicked him again. The calf started crying again before the doctors could even console and treat the baby elephant.

Elephants are very smart, they use tools and use their trunks as a tool! Elephants can mimic the sounds they hear. Elephants are excellent problem solvers and can problem solve to reach their food when put under tests. Elephants are very self aware and can recognize themselves when a mirror is placed in front of them. They perform death rituals for other dead elephants by stroking the carcass with their trunks and feet, and spend two days standing and staying near the body. They also self medicate by chewing the leaves from the tree family Boraginaceae. Art and music are also two talents and hobbies of elephants.

Elephants are overall super intellectual creatures and one of the best animals on this planet!

  1. this is very cool! i like how you said what happens right after birth, and some cool signs like the trunk wrapping together to show affection. I was wondering how do they know they can rescue dogs? i mean you don’t see a dog out in the wild very often or even at all. and is it only one type of dog or is it all types of dogs? I think this subject was very cool, i love elephants so its really interesting to know about them a little more! very good job, only thing i would say is where did you get this information? thanks and good job once again!

    • Thanks for reminding me about the sources! I thought I was forgetting something when I posted it and now I remember what it was. And about the dogs, there was this story about an elephant being used for logging (I forgot which country) and the man riding the elephant was directing the elephant to put a log over a hole but there happened to be a dog in the hole and the elephant refused to cover up the hole with a log and helped the dog out of the hole! And they can get along with any types of dogs.
